Terry also stated that due to the weather the 2016 Christmas golf day was cancelled and no subsidy was provided by the society, resulting in a saving which contributed to our Profit for the year.
2. Report of Secretary
The Secretary thanked all those present for taking time out to attend the meeting and to those members who sent their apologies for absence. He also thanked all members for making 2016 such a good year with their continued support and attendance.
He also hoped that the new website www.rhgs.moonfruit.com was giving easier access and clearer information, and that the members will come to use it as the main source of Society activity.

The meeting proposed and seconded elected Officers for 2017 as follows:
Chairman Steve Pool
Captain Chris Vander
Vice Captain Steve Davies

It was also proposed and agreed that a Vice Vice Captain should be elected to succeed the Vice Captain in 2018 to eventually become Captain in 2019. Dave Kitchens kindly put his name forward for this position.

8. Ryder Cup Event
Our 12th Ryder Cup day has been arranged by TPGS and will take place at Five Lakes GC.
Currently RHGS is leading the competition (RHGS 6 Wins, TPGS 5 wins)
9. Any other Business
1. The meeting thanked Linda for once again providing such a fine
Buffet for our AGM.
2. It was suggested that we purchase another set of team shirts for our Ryder Cup event. Alex Carroll said he would make enquiries and get back with prices.
It was decided that white shirts would be the most practical, and are to be worn at the 2017 Ryder Cup meeting.
3. It was put forward by some of the meeting attendees that we change our handicap system from it's current format.
Basically it involves any score of 25 or less getting one stroke back.
All winners will be given a rounded up or down 10% reduction depending on their current handicap ie:
1 to 14 cut by one stroke (0.1 to 1.4)
15 to 24 cut by two strokes (1.5 to 2.4)
25 to 28 cut by three strokes (2.5 to 2.8)
After some discussion it was decided to go ahead and Chris Vander volunteered to produce the ground rules which will appear on our website in due course.
