1.Report of Treasurer

 

Darren Rawlings is on holiday and will finalise the accounts on his return, they will then be posted on our Web site (rhgssite.co.uk)

All Membership and Golf Day cheques must be made out to ‘The Ramsden Heath Golf Society’

 

2.Report of Secretary

 

Roy Chopping thanked all those present for taking time out to attend the meeting and to all members for making 2011 such a good year with their support and attendance.

 

3.Election of Officers

 

The meeting elected Officers for 2012 as follows:

 

Chairman - Steve Pool

    Captain - Mike Taylor

Vice Captain - Paul Guest

Treasurer - Darren Rawlings

Secretary - Roy Chopping

Handicap Sec. - Chris Vander

 

It was confirmed that the newly elected Vice Captain will be elected Captain in 2013

The meeting also thanked Keith Fisher for his help and support during his time as Captain during 2011.

 

4.Venues for 2011 Society Days

 

All the Venues for 2012 have been booked, an updated list of these venues can be found on our Ramsden Heath G S Web Site (rhgssite.co.uk).

 

5. Membership Subscriptions

 

It was agreed by the meeting that subscriptions be increased to £15 for 2012. It was also agreed that new members will have to pay an additional £5

Joining fee, which includes the purchase of the Society Tie. The reason for the subscription increase is to allow payment for an insurance Premium covering accidental damage or Injury received or inflicted to any member or third party during one of our Society Days.

Chris Vander volunteered to investigate the premium Costs involved and Roy Chopping stated that he would check out all our venues to find out what liability cover they provided. The meeting thanked all those people who have submitted their Subscriptions.

All those who have not subscribed but still wish to be members should do so on or before the March Golf Day (Wed 21st March at The Essex Golf Club).

 

6. Cost and Payment for Golf Days

 

It was stated by the Secretary that the society will continue to subsidize the more expensive venues this season so that the maximum members will pay will be £55, £5 extra for guests. We will continue with the Golf Ball Sweep and Snakes and Lizards.

 

7. Trophies and Prizes

 

It was agreed by the meeting that, as in 2011, the winners will continue to receive a small individual trophy to keep in addition to the Sponsored trophy. The other prizes on the day will be for: Runner up, Nearest the Pin, Longest Drive, Guest Winner, and team event for the morning 9 Holes

The captain will be responsible for deciding the 9 Hole competitions during 2012. The sponsored trophies are all engraved and up to date as of  the October 2011 meeting, our thanks to Alex Carroll for looking after all the engraving requirements.

The Society will again purchase the Individual Winners, Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin trophies for 2012.

 

     8. Ryder Cup Event

 

Our Fifth Ryder Cup day has been arranged to take place at Boyce Hill

on Thurs 14th June and Thameside Putters will be the hosts.

 

    9. Any other Business

 

1.The meeting was asked if there were any changes or additions that could be made to the WebSite (rhgssite.co.uk ) which was set up in October 2011. There was general agreement that the bird song background noise should be taken out and that an additional Gallery page be added to enter photos etc. The secretary stated that he would get these changes made as soon as possible

 

2.The meeting thanked Linda for once again providing such a fine Buffet for our AGM.
